I did countless hours of research on these and Levoit is the best of the best. Mine (Levoit 600S-P) has been no exception. We use it daily and I feel like the air my family breathes is now cleaner, safer, and healthier.
I think for someone who has poor air quality, this is an absolute must-have. For others like me who are lucky to live in a place with great air quality, it's still really very nice to have for peace of mind. I know at all times that I breath fresh air in my house and that my family and our friends do as well.
In my research, I found that smaller versions from any brand don't adequately clean a large room. The advertising of "500 Square Feet" does not really work. They need to be a bit oversized to adequately clear your air. This particular model says it can handle thousands of SF. This model also does everything you'd expect. It runs quiet or high speed, it cleans a big room or house, it has a colorful air quality indicator that tells you if there is something in the air you don't want to breath and it can automatically adjust itself to high mode when that happens. Normally, we do use it manually, we leave it on level 2 and if the air quality sensor says poor like if we are cooking or something, we just turn it up to 3 or 4 for a while.
Ours has been running about 2 years now without a single issue. We used our filter for a year and it was caked with dust, dirt and debris when I replaced it. So, it definitely cleans the air well. I need to change the filter more often! I enjoy having it around and it makes my home that much nicer and healthier to be in. I definitely suggest you get one of these models if you can afford it.
